RAR archives can get corrupted for a variety of reasons. Most common causes include incorrect system shutdown, virus attacks and incomplete download or transference. RAR Recovery Toolbox can help you retrieve data from corrupted RAR files.

The program has a wizard-like interface, which contributes to minimizing your efforts, as you will be providing small chunks of information at a time. After performing a fast recovery process, you will be provided with a report of the items contained in the archive, from which you can choose those you need to recover.

When I tried the application, it managed to scan the corrupted archive and re-constitute the data structure. It is said to use various recovery algorithms to minimize data loss, thus recovering as much information as possible. It is too bad I could not check the accuracy of the results as the demo version does not allow either previewing or saving them. In my opinion, this limitation does not allow the users to assess the program’s quality fully. The developers should allow to program to recover at least a limited number of the archived contents instead.
